As a Latino man, I grew up with the belief that emotions should be buried, that there were always “more important” things than facing the feelings and emotions that lived beneath the surface. For years, I carried depression, burnout, and anxiety in silence—hiding behind a smile while feeling lost and without purpose.
In our culture, men are often taught that showing weakness is unacceptable, that we must be the strength of our families, and as such, we have to carry forward regardless of the pain we carry inside. But silence can be dangerous. Left unspoken, pain can lead to self-sabotage, and a loss of direction. I know this because I’ve experienced it firsthand.
Therapy and healing work have taught me that vulnerability is not weakness—it’s power. By opening up, I’ve found authentic connection, community, and strength. And I’ve learned that this struggle is not just mine, nor just within the Latino community—it’s something men everywhere face.
That’s why I created Hombres on the Mend: to break the silence, to foster community, and to show with our inner strength that the healing begins when we share our stories. Together, we can transform pain into purpose, vulnerability into strength, and silence into a powerful force for solidarity.
Welcome to Hombres on the Mend—our community of strength and healing.

Hombres on the Mend exists to break the silence around men’s mental health. Through personal stories, impactful articles, and practical resources, we shine a light on the struggles men face and the strength found in healing. This is more than a site—it’s a safe space for connection, empowerment, and community dedicated to exploring the multifaceted landscape of men's mental health.

I founded Hombres on the Mend to champion mental health awareness within the male community to help break stigmas, build strength, and foster a community for men facing mental health challenges, while encouraging emotional well-being. My work is rooted in the belief that men deserve support, healing, and the tools to prioritize their mental health without being judged for their struggles. I’m committed to empowering men to show up for themselves—and each other—with vulnerability, strength, and intention. Let’s shift the narrative and build a healthier future together. Join the movement toward self-discovery and empowerment – your voice matters here.
